Students from other countries must turn to the local Ukraine embassy or consulate (

wuse II Abuja) and apply for the visa after being accepted for studies in the Ukraine. The whole procedure for obtaining a visa for study purposes can take up to 60 days, it is thus recommended to apply for the visa well in advance. The regulations for obtaining visas change from time to time. This means that the regulations listed below should be considered as guidelines only and students should consult their local UKraine embassy or consulate for the latest information regarding visa requirements.
There are short-term visa (for stays up to 90 days) and long-term visa (for stays over 90 days). The short- term visa is mainly for those coming for visiting. The following documents are mainly required for receiving a student visa or a residence permit:
  • A valid passport and passport photos
  • A letter of acceptance for studies ( Known as Admission letter and Invitation
  • A proof of financial resources for the stay( Bank Account, it is reasonable to get a well found account running into 2million Naira above)
  • A valid international health insurance.
    Your school credential, ( O level or First degree credential)

Please note that some documents must be translated into Ukraine language or Russian language by a translator with an official ruber stamp. Both translated copies of the documents should be legalized in the various Ministry.

The health Insurance should be obtained at any recognized Insurance company and be translated.
The O level result should be authenticated at the Ministry of Education Abuja ( Abuja secretariat)
The medical fitness test Result comprising HIV/ AIDS status should be conducted at a recognized Hospital in Nigeria and be satisfied by the Ministry of health Abuja ( Abuja secretariat)
THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE INCLUDING THE ABOVE MENTIONED DOCUMENTS SHOULD BE TAKING FOR LEGALIZATION AT THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS

These documents are not only required at the embassy by the consulate but necessary that you come with them to Ukraine while coming. Any attempt to leave them behind might prevent you from entry ino Ukraine.
